Risk Reduction Program (RRP)
At AACS Atlanta, we offer several educational courses that are recognized and accepted nationwide to satisfy the court and probationary requirements. Our substance abuse Education workshops and addiction prevention curriculums are designed with an eye to maximizing time spent with our therapists and counselors in an intensive 4, 8, or 20 hours sessions. The intensive workshops are designed for early intervention, education, and reduction in high-risk choices. The primary goal of a brief intervention is to inform the individual of low-risk and safer choices. While each individual presents with a set of unique circumstances, healthy choices minimize contact with law enforcement, the criminal justice system, and the potential of maladaptive habit-forming. Education and information are powerful tools in general. Being informed of choices and possible consequences affect our decision-making process. We specialize in education our communities and clients by preventing future relapses and assisting in behavior modification.
All classes and workshops are offered on a weekly basis with a day, night and weekend option to accommodate all schedules. Your evaluator, the probation officer or the judge may recommend that you participate in one of these educational workshops in lieu of prolonged treatment. Most participants walk away armed with critical knowledge about high-risk behavior and its consequences. A follow-up study has shown those who participate in educational workshops are less likely to re-offend or get arrested for the same offense.
