A DUI clinical evaluation is a court-ordered assessment, typically mandated by the sentencing judge as part of probationary terms and conditions. It can be conducted pre- or post-formal court proceedings. Being proactive and obtaining an evaluation before a court appearance shows accountability and is viewed favorably.

The evaluation is conducted in a written format followed by an in-person, face-to-face interview with a clinician. A drug and alcohol test will be administered to assess recent or current alcohol or drug usage. A detailed case presentation is prepared and provided at the conclusion of the interview. In cases of multiple DUIs, further collateral information and interviews may be required to complete the assessment. An evaluation consists of a one-hour appointment with a clinical evaluator who must be an approved provider by the Georgia DUI Intervention Authority.

When an individual is charged with DUI or careless/reckless driving by the state, judge, attorney, or probation office, he/she has to get their clinical evaluation done for DUI before or after court proceedings. DUI evaluations are state-regulated. However, it is recommended that you undergo a clinical evaluation before your appearance in court to demonstrate your good faith and accountability.

Evaluation is a one-hour session that has to be booked by the violator prior to the session with the clinical evaluator. Our professional will verify your exposure to substance abuse for different drugs while ensuring the confidentiality of the session. After the session, our authorized clinician determines whether you need any education, counseling, program, or treatment. The final recommendation is explained to you before being handed over to you in writing. If he suggests a treatment program, any violation of attendance and other procedures during the program will constitute a further violation on your part.
