Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

AACS Atlanta provides a comprehensive Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for individuals in Georgia struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Our program runs flexible sessions six days per week, accommodating working adults, students, and anyone managing a demanding schedule who needs structured clinical support without residential treatment.

AACS Atlanta holds accreditation from The Joint Commission and the Georgia Department of Community Health, reflecting our commitment to delivering clinically rigorous, accountable care across every level of our programming.

AACS ATLANTA

Who the IOP Serves

Our IOP serves individuals who need more clinical structure than standard outpatient treatment provides but are not ready for or do not require full inpatient care.

It works well for:

Eligibility for our IOP is based on a clinical assessment conducted at intake. Our counselors determine the appropriate level of care based on each client’s individual history and treatment needs.

    Full Spectrum of Care

AACS Atlanta does not treat the IOP as a standalone intervention. We integrate it within a full continuum of care that supports clients at every stage of recovery:

    IOP

Multiple structured sessions per week for individuals requiring intensive clinical support

    Outpatient Program (OP)

A lower level of care for clients who have completed IOP and continue to benefit from regular counseling

    Extended Aftercare

Ongoing support for clients in sustained recovery who need continued accountability and clinical connection

This continuum ensures clients do not face an abrupt drop-off in clinical support as their recovery progresses. AACS Atlanta matches each client to the appropriate level at every transition point.

    Family Participation

One of the most effective but often underutilized aspects of IOP treatment is family involvement. AACS Atlanta allows family members to participate in consultations alongside clients in the program. Family participation strengthens the client’s support network, improves communication within the home, and reduces the environmental risk factors that contribute to relapse.

    Our Approach to Recovery

AACS Atlanta follows the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) definition of addiction, treating each client’s spiritual, emotional, mental, biological, and physiological well-being as interconnected parts of a unified whole. Our staff brings extensive training in multicultural sensitivity, cutting-edge treatment modalities, and evidence-based clinical practice to every session.

We accept private insurance and offer affordable out-of-pocket rates for clients without coverage or those who prefer to keep treatment confidential from their insurance provider.
