Has a court, probation officer, attorney, employer, or family member asked you to complete an anger management evaluation in Georgia? AACS Atlanta provides anger management evaluations by licensed professionals for individuals throughout Georgia.
An anger management evaluation is a structured clinical assessment used to determine how a person experiences, expresses, and manages anger. It is not the same as an anger management class. It is a one-on-one assessment conducted privately with a licensed counselor.
The purpose is to determine whether treatment, counseling, classes, or no further services are appropriate based on the individual’s history, current symptoms, legal situation, and behavioral patterns.
In Georgia, an anger management evaluation may be required when someone has been arrested, charged, or convicted in connection with conflict-related or assaultive behavior. Common situations include:
The evaluation helps courts and probation officers answer key questions:
A proper evaluation offers a structured, clinically grounded picture far more reliable than assumptions based on a police report or accusation alone. AACS Atlanta’s reports are accepted by Georgia courts, probation officers, and attorneys.
No. Anger is a normal human emotion. Feeling angry does not automatically mean someone needs an anger management evaluation. Every person is entitled to acknowledge how they feel — our approach respects individual cultural backgrounds, values, and traditions.
The real question is how anger is expressed and whether it leads to legal, social, family, or occupational consequences. An evaluation helps distinguish between a normal emotional response and a pattern that may require professional support.
The evaluation is completed one-on-one with a licensed counselor in a fully confidential setting. The process takes approximately 45–60 minutes and includes:
A structured questionnaire to assess emotional patterns, anger style, and behavioral tendencies.
A structured conversation covering triggers, behavior history, stress tolerance, coping style, and the circumstances that brought you in.
Your legal or probation requirements, prior counseling history, family or relationship stress, substance use history if relevant, and any co-occurring mental health concerns.
At the conclusion of the evaluation, you receive a written clinical report with findings and recommendations. Reports are formatted to meet Georgia court, probation, and legal requirements.
