What is an Anger Management Evaluation?
Criminal and civil courts in georgia mandate individuals to get an Anger Management Evaluation if they have been arrested, charged, or convicted of a violent or abusive crime. The individual may have a criminal domestic violence case, disorderly conduct, civil, child custody, or social issues with anger management.
An evaluation is conducted one-on-one with a trained counselor in a confidential setting. The process requires filling out a questionnaire about certain traits and patterns. The tool we utilize at AACS is the STAXI scale.
While many people say that anger is a secondary emotion, we are all entitled and have the right to acknowledge the way we feel. Anger is an emotion we must experience as humans.
