Professional Health Program Evaluation in Marietta

Your professional license represents years of education, hard work, and dedication. When a licensing board asks you to complete a professional health program evaluation, the stakes could not be higher. One misstep in the process can delay your reinstatement or put your entire career at risk. At AACS Atlanta, we help licensed professionals navigate this process with the clinical depth, speed, and confidentiality that licensing boards require.

What Is a Professional Health Program Evaluation?

A Professional Health Program in Georgia is a structured clinical assessment designed to determine whether a licensed professional can safely and competently continue practicing their profession. Licensing boards across Georgia order these evaluations when there are concerns related to substance use, mental health, behavioral conduct, or impairment.

This evaluation goes far beyond a simple drug test. It examines your personal history, current functioning, treatment progress if applicable, and your overall fitness to return to or continue in your professional role. The resulting clinical report directly influences the board’s decision about your license status, which is why choosing the right evaluation provider matters so much.

How AACS Atlanta Helps You Secure Your License

We understand that facing a board-mandated evaluation feels overwhelming. Our licensed clinicians guide you through every step of the process with clarity and compassion. We start with a confidential intake where you share your background and the board’s specific requirements. From there, our team conducts a comprehensive clinical interview that covers your substance use history, mental health, and professional functioning.

We use standardized, validated assessment tools that Georgia licensing boards recognize and accept, giving your evaluation report the credibility it needs to move your case forward. After the assessment, we prepare a detailed, board-ready written report with clinical findings, professional recommendations, and a return-to-work assessment where applicable.

If the board requires treatment or ongoing monitoring as a next step, we connect you with the right programs, including outpatient services we offer directly at our Marietta location. You do not have to piece together your own path forward. We walk alongside you through the entire process.

Who Needs a Professional Health Program Evaluation?

If your licensing board or employer has requested a PHP evaluation, you need to act quickly. This type of evaluation is commonly required for registered nurses and nurse practitioners, physicians and medical residents, pharmacists, dentists and dental hygienists, licensed social workers and counselors, physical and occupational therapists, attorneys, teachers and educators, and first responders, including EMTs and paramedics.

You do not have to be facing a disciplinary crisis to seek an evaluation. Many professionals pursue PHP evaluations proactively to demonstrate fitness for duty, satisfy employment requirements, or support re-licensure after a period of inactivity. Whatever your situation, our team treats you with respect and professionalism from the moment you walk through our doors.

What to Expect During the Evaluation

Walking into a clinical evaluation for the first time can feel daunting. We want you to feel informed and prepared before you arrive. A typical PHP evaluation at AACS Atlanta takes between one and three hours depending on the scope requested by your board. You will meet one-on-one with a licensed clinician who asks structured questions about your professional history, personal health, and any relevant substance use or mental health concerns.

Bring any documentation your board provided, including the referral letter or evaluation order, your license information, and any prior treatment records you have available. The more complete the picture you provide, the stronger and more accurate your evaluation report will be.

After the evaluation, our clinical team reviews the findings and prepares a comprehensive written report. We submit it directly to your board or provide it to you depending on the board’s protocol. We maintain strict confidentiality throughout this process in full compliance with HIPAA and applicable Georgia regulations.
